hapter’s 50th annual Wildflower Show on Saturday,
April 26th from 9:30am – 4:00pm at West Valley College in Saratoga
. This family-friendly event features hundreds of native wildflowers a
nd plants on display as well as a variety of activities for all ages.
The event and parking are all free to the public.
To celebrate our fiftieth show, we are featuring two popular speake rs: John Muir Laws, renowned naturalist and nature journalist, and Kate Marianchild, author of Secrets of the Oak Wo odlands. Other talks and workshops will offer the opportunity to l earn about bioblitzes, wildflower arrangements, macrophotography and m ore.
Attendees will also be able to take tours of th e Vasona Creek Restoration Project and the Biology Department’s M oon Garden. A selection of native plants and native plant art, T-shirt s, books and other related goods will be available for purchase.
A SOD (Sudden Oak Death) Blitz Station will be available a t the show for people who would like to participate in the 2025 SOD Bl itz. This is your opportunity to participate in this important citizen science effort to understand and control this deadly disease that threaten s our oak trees.
