DESCRIPTION:<p class="p1">Join Judy Fenerty and Stella Yang for a moderately paced&nbsp
 ;hike on the Mendoza, Mummy Mountain and Coyote Ridge&nbsp;trails in the Me
 ndoza Ranch section of Coyote Lake-Harvey Bear Ranch County Park.</p><p cla
 ss="p1">This 4-mile, 400+ foot elevation gain hike will take us&nbsp;throug
 h valley grasslands and up an oak-studded ridgeline&nbsp;with spectacular v
 iews of the south Santa Clara Valley,&nbsp;Coyote Lake and Palassou Ridge. 
 This varied habitat&nbsp;supports a wide range of native plants including s
 everal&nbsp;stands of big-scale balsamroot, <i>Balsamorhiza macrolepis&nbsp
 ;</i>var<i>. macrolepis</i>, a CNPS 1B.2 rare plant. If there’s time&nbsp;a
 nd interest, we can add an optional foray to check out the&nbsp;serpentine 
 area on the Calaveras Trail.</p><p class="p1">Please bring lunch, snacks&nb
 sp;and plenty of water. Heavy&nbsp;rain cancels.</p><p class="p1">RSVP is r
 equired to join us&nbsp;for the walk. No drop-ins&nbsp;please, and space is
