Come help us weed non-native, invasive plants at this na tural gem of San Jose. Our habitat restoration efforts allow the nativ e plants to “come to light.” Our workdays take place every Monday a nd Wednesday at 8:30 am, and on the second Saturda y morning of each month. No experience is necessary. All tools and instruction will be provided. Please bring a filled water bottle , snacks, sunscreen, sunhat and insect repellent if you need it; wear trail/off-trail footwear, long pants and a long-sleeved shirt.
Lately we have been clearing weeds that grew extra tall as a resu lt of last spring’s abundant rainfall. We have also started some pruni ng for fire mitigation. The City of San Jose cannot fully staff their parks even to keep the trails clear of non-native thistles, so there i s plenty of work for project volunteers. New volunteers are welcome!
