Enjoy the trails and the spectacular views of Calero County Park. Join our leader Tom Lee as we hike through mixed serpentine soil and enjoy different plant communities. The trail starts with some climbing in grasslands and loops around chaparral before returning along a creek.
This hike will be about 3.6 miles long with an elevation gain of 580 feet. At this season in past years, we have seen buttercups, lupines, fiddlenecks, iris and red-winged blackbirds.
We’ll meet at 10:00am at the main gate of Calero Park at 23205 McKean Road. Please bring sturdy shoes, appropriate layering, hat and lunch. Heavy rain cancels.
RSVP is required to join the hike. No drop-ins please and space is limited. To RSVP on Meetup, please visit our Chapter’s Meetup group, here: www.meetup.com/California-Native-Plant-Society-Santa-Clara-Valley-Chapter/. We open the RSVPs one week before the event. Find your event within the group and tap/click the “Attend” button to reserve your spot.
