Join Don Thomas for a short hike at Villa Montalvo County Park, through the shade of the redwoods to Lookout Point. Along the way we will see a number of California nutmeg (Torreya californica) trees. This is one of the more accessible Torreya groves in the Bay Area.
The distance is 2 miles with about 500 feet of elevation gain. Bring a hat, water and a snack for yourself. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
We’ll meet at Villa Montalvo in Parking Lot 1. Parking is limited, carpooling is recommended. (Note that there are multiple parking lots and our group will meet at Lot 1.)
RSVP is required to join the hike. No drop-ins please and space is limited. To make a required reservation, please visit our Chapter’s Meetup group, here: www.meetup.com/California-Native-Plant-Society-Santa- Clara-Valley-Chapter/. We open the RSVPs one week before the event. Find your event within the group and tap/click the “Attend” button to reserve your spot.
