On one spectacular weekend in spring, Henry W. Coe State Park opens the gate at Bell’s Station on Highway 152 east of Gilroy for Backcountry Weekend. Since our Wildflower Show will be on Saturday, we are hoping to gather for a long day hike (up to 10 miles) on Sunday to explore areas in the park we rarely get a chance to visit.
Several of us will be applying for a vehicle permit and can take a few riders for the day from the entrance to the start of the hike; others who might be able to drive can find the application here: coepark.net/pineridgeassociation/ programs-events/annual-events/backcountry-weekend. If you are interested in joining us as a driver or a rider, please contact Judy Fenerty at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
