Initial plans are being made for a camping/botanizing trip to the Red Rock/Lone Pine/Alabama Hills Mojave Desert. Thursday will be travel day (~7.5 hours) and the trip ends at noon Sunday. Led by Joe Cernac (biology), Patricia Evans (organizer) and Sarah Wang (whip). You could stay at the Red Rock Canyon State Park (primitive camping) or a Ridgecrest hotel.
The trip timing depends on winter rainfall and may be rescheduled to April 16-20 for better wildflower conditions, and possibly to Eastern Mojave National Park. For trip updates, visit our Chapter’s field trips page, at www.cnps-scv.org/activities/field-trips.
This trip is open to CNPS members only and is limited to 20 people. Sign up by calling Sarah Wang at (408) 348-5857. Learn more about becoming a CNPS member at www.cnps.org/membership.
